Full Job Description

To undertake decontamination science duties in providing a specialized decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient - to carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing and sterilization of reusable medical devices and record all tasks in the tracking and tracing database .

To ensure that all products manufactured in the Decontamination Services department within the Trust are fit for purpose and produced in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with the Quality Manager System (QMS) relevant to the area and to work as part of a team and undertake duties as directed by the management team of the Trusts decontamination facilities.

To work in all areas of the decontamination facilities at both hospitals (Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital) as and when required., To reprocess reusable medical devices, disassemble, clean, disinfect, check, assemble, sterilize, dispatch and track in a controlled environment. To work in accordance with Departmental Policy, Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management System. To contribute to ensuring that quality assurance and production controls systems are maintained in accordance with standard work instructions.
