Full Job Description
As a Strategy and Policy Manager with the Policy team , part of System Development, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic group, contributing to policy development across a diverse and varied portfolio. Workstreams may include (but not be limited to) exploring ways to develop and improve commissioning following the introduction of ICBs, improving provider governance and responding to new provider-focused policy areas from the new government. The post holder will be a key part of the flexible team and will contribute to project management and policy development across these portfolios by:o Working flexibly across a range of strategy, policy and implementation areas of work.o Carrying out research and analysis of information from a range of sources and present it in a clear way.o Leading and delivering specific projects within the team, including project management and reporting.o Contribute to planning of team activities.o Working collaboratively with programme teams and support work assigned to the team.o Contributing towards policy briefings and reports and feeding into discussions to take these forward within the programme. The role offers opportunities to develop high level problem-solving skills combined with exposure to policy thinking and decision-making at a national level., o Work as part of a team to use quantitative and qualitative methodologies to help understand and resolve high profile policy issues.o Support the team to generate high impact policy recommendations and strategic approaches.o Work closely with other team members and develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues across NHSE and with external stakeholders on specific projects.o Present complex and conflicting information in a meaningful way and, with support from more senior team members, will develop their ability to present information to influence decision-makers.o Develop strong content knowledge, be capable of working with different data sets (qualitative and quantitative), and carry out analysis on a variety of content as required.o Provide analytical support including: developing briefings, presentations, reports and meeting management (including agenda setting, note taking and following up on actions).o Maintain a good knowledge of policies existing and emerging and apply this knowledge when developing strategy with key stakeholders to overcome barriers to implementation.o Project manage agreed projects.o Actively seek to improve and maintain equality and diversity in the team and within the policy produced.o Build close positive working relationships within the team, reflecting the values and behaviours of the NHS and System Architecture, NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.
