Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our Information Governance team, as a Subject Access Administrator at York Hospital. The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00 or 08:45-17:00. You will be responsible for processing Subject Access and other rights related requests, in compliance with data protection legislation. Your role will be crucial in facilitating individuals' rights to access their personal data, and ensuring the organisation adheres to legal and regulatory requirements.,

  • Process application forms, letters and emails requesting access to patient records. Ensuring relevant consent forms and supporting documentation is enclosed.
  • Data inputting Subject Access requests onto excel spreadsheet as they are received, allowing monitoring of the progress of each request, prioritising to ensure that applications are turned around within timeframes set out in the legislation.
  • Manage other data subject rights including erasure, objection, rectification, restriction and the right to be informed.
  • Deal with telephone enquiries from a variety of sources in relation to accessing patient records.
  • Providing application forms and information relating to process and charges as required.
  • Communicate with patients, relatives, Solicitors, Police and the Courts, either in writing or verbally in relation to Subject Access requests, providing a helpful, courteous and prompt response.
