Full Job Description

The Trust itself is currently reconfiguring its services, supported by £196.5m of capital funding from the Department of Health and Social Care to invest in local health services at both Calderdale Royal Hospital (CRH) and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary (HRI).
The Person:
Directly accountable to the Clinical Director of Pharmacy for all outpatient dispensary services, you will provide a specialised outpatient dispensing service, providing highly specialist advice and expertise to clinical staff and patients.
You will advise CHS Board of local and national developments/recommendations and their impact in relation to Medicines Management and be responsible for safe and secure medicines practice including patient education.
You will provide expert advice and ensure all staff have appropriate opportunities and support for training and development and are acting in accordance with the Code of Ethics and requirements of the (GPhC)., To ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of all aspects of the out-patient dispensary service in accordance with national and local standards.
To have delegated budgetary accountability for ordering and management of all medicines within the outpatient dispensary.
To advise CHS Board on appropriate workforce plans, providing sufficient staff who are trained and competent for their role.
To provide leadership and expert advice, acting as a role model for the staff and for the business.
§ To fulfil the regulatory and statutory responsibilities as required by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
§ To develop a high quality, safe and timely outpatient dispensary service for patients.
§ To develop effective working relationships with prescribers.
§ To ensure the optimisation and development of the overall profitability of the business.
§ To report progress against KPIs to the Board each month., At CHS we understand the differences in delivering our services in complex environments and we have a flexible approach to meet the needs of our customers. Our Estates and Facilities management functions alongside our Clinical Engineering, Decontamination and Procurement service, provides the following:
+ Fully managed estate and building maintenance
+ Clinical engineering/equipment maintenance/ decontamination
+ Procurement advice, guidance and governance
+ Capital project management
+ Transport
+ Grounds maintenance.
+ Portering
+ Catering

You may be required to undertake a DBS. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £42.90, Standard £22.90 or Basic £22.90) from your salary when you commence in post (including Internal staff). For Enhanced and Standard DBS checks you will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment.
