Teaching laboratory technicians

We are looking for two Laboratory Teaching Technicians to support our busy teaching laboratories in the Faculty of Biological Science. You will work within the teaching team, assisting with the organisation and operation of our laboratories, including preparing materials, maintaining equipment and enhancing the student experience through giving demonstrations and providing general support and advice. The Faculty has a suite of nine teaching laboratories covering Biomedical and Sports Sciences, Molecular and Cellular Biology and Biology.

You will have a BTEC qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience working in a scientific research or teaching environment, as well as the ability to demonstrate laboratory techniques to students. You will also have an understanding of biological and chemical hazards, safe handling and disposal, with the ability to work safely and maintain a high standard of hygiene. In addition, you will also have good organisational and communication skills, and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
