Full Job Description

A position has arisen for a Teaching and Technician Assistant, within the Faculty Simulation Unit. The post is located within the Tithebarn Street Building, in the School of Nursing and Allied Health and reports to the Faculty Resource Manager. You must be able to start at 8:30am or earlier as required. Currently around six months of the year the post operates on a shift, with early and late work usually from 8am to 8pm, on designated days throughout the week. Occasional weekends for Open Days and other activities are required.

The role supports setting up, supporting teaching in class, and setting down of equipment daily. IOSH certified will be an advantage or required to pass IOSH training early in your appointment, to teach Manual Handling techniques. You will also support specialised technical support with medical disciplines such as Endoscopy.

You will provide first line support operating and maintaining computer based clinical simulators, manikins, models, trainers, other equipment as well as medical consumables. An element of this role includes the support of Immersive Environment technology, VR, and specialist clinical equipment. You will also support General IT, and classroom audio visual needs throughout the general teaching spaces and meeting rooms.

Previous technical experience in an Education or NHS environment would be advantageous, with strong IT skills are going to be needed to succeed in this role. Five GCSEs or equivalent or previous work/life experience in a relevant role., Disability Confident
