Full Job Description

Storm overflows are very provocative and not acceptable to our customers and stakeholders. We want to lead the charge in resolving the current situation. That's where our Clean Rivers & Seas Task Force comes in, implementing pioneering and industry-leading solutions to reduce spills and reliance on overflows whilst also enhancing the environment for our communities. Currently delivering a £45million pathfinder programme which rapidly expands to £1.5billion over next 10 years. The programme has been very successful, and we are now expanding the team so we can continue to work in partnership to deliver a larger programme of sustainable and innovative interventions to reduce the use of storm overflows.,

  • Technical design and oversight of the pathfinder AMP8 storm overflow reduction programme - provide input, challenge, steer and governance to ensure we design & deliver technically feasible set of interventions.
  • Facilitate delivery of optimization / smart catchment(s) type interventions- working with teams across the business - asset management, data, IT, control room, operations - to ensure everyone understands what / why we're doing what we're doing it, where any risks might sit / how they should be mitigated, and how best to manage the delivery and operation of the interventions.
  • Develop innovative approaches for analysis with thought leaders internally, in academia, across the UK water industry and the supply chain. To enable agile, accelerated and streamlined wastewater network analysis, essential for an aggressive AMP8 delivery programme.
  • Supervise, mentor and grow the next generation of technical talent. (PhD & MSc students and graduates).

    Strong technical bias (engineer).
  • Innovative and creative mind set.
  • Engaging and able to build strong relationships in and outside the organisation.
  • Superior data analytical skills.
  • Can do attitude and can overcome complex challenges and obstacles.
  • Can challenge colleagues and the supply chain to ensure robust interventions are designed and delivered.
  • 5-10 years' technical experience in Wastewater networks.
  • Experience with a variety of analytical tools \ packages (ICM, SQL, R, …).
  • Hydraulic modelling trained and experienced.
  • Degree level technical (BEng \ MSc) qualifications in engineering

    This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid or flexible approach to working in one of our offices for example Durrington / Falmer or from home. We are offering a salary circa £70,000 as well as other benefits including :
