Full Job Description

  • Test Engineer - taking ownership in the development of testing processes for WIKA Optical Sensing products and support product development test activities, ensuring that developed parts are fit for purpose (meet specification requirements) and all evidential data to support specification claims is stored in controlled & accessible manner.
  • Using software and hardware tools to support testing activities and supporting the development of such tools.
  • Produce test process documentation to ensure effective hand over of test processes to operations department and continual improvement of development testing resources.
  • Check test equipment and WIKA Optical Sensing manufacturing/production tools so that they are maintained and kept in calibration.
  • Develop hardware test solutions for manual, semi-automated & automated tests of WIKA Optical Sensing prototypes and products.
  • Develop software (LabView, Python, R) test solutions for semi-automated and automated test of WIKA Optical Sensing prototypes and products.
  • Make sure test processes are aligned with client requirements, internal requirements and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce relevant supporting manufacturing documentation (Work Instructions, Travellers, WO routing, etc.)
  • Be proficient in using computer software tools used for regular testing of WIKA Optical Sensing products & components, manage software tools in line with WIKA Optical Sensing QMS.
  • Support development, manufacture, and commissioning of tooling for test rigs for regular and customised testing within WIKA Optical Sensing.

    Test Engineer with a background in manufacturing / automation / industrial engineering.
  • Bachelor s degree in automation engineering or equivalent education or combination of technical work experience and vocational qualifications.
  • LabVIEW proficiency to Core 3 level and beyond (Certified LabVIEW Developer).
  • Strong ability to understand the test inputs and outputs.
  • Background and experience in performing manual and automated test sequences, validating data & producing test reports.
  • Ability to employ hardware and software tools for test automation.
  • Use of test hardware/software with ability to configure.
  • Ability to understand test specifications and convert them into technical requirements for test sequences.
  • Ability to modify and develop software tools which may include but not limited to software development in LabVIEW environment.
  • Technical understanding of pressurised systems testing, accelerated life testing, qualification testing (regulatory) & vibration testing.
