Full Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a Band 5 1st Level Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with current NMC registration/HCPC registration to the post in Anaesthetic Care Unit at Scarborough Hospital. Our area is committed to providing a high standard of patient care over two sites (Scarborough and Bridlington) covering a variety of specialities. Our surgical specialties include: Maxillofacial, ENT, Gynaecology, Urology,Upper GI, Orthopaedics as well as Acutes and Trauma.,

  • Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
  • Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
  • Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
  • Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
  • Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands
  • Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures

    We welcome applicantsfrom both experienced and new qualified ODP's /Nurses/ anaesthetic nurses. You do not need any additional qualifications to be eligible for this post, but hold passion, enthusiasm and commitment to provide patient centred care.
  • A positive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research evidence.
  • A willingness to supervise and teach junior staff and colleagues and share learning through clinical supervision.
  • The ability to work as an integral member of the team.
