Training Programme Director - Dental Core

The Training Programme Director in Dental Core Training NHSE NW (Mersey region) will support the Associate Dental Dean in the Strategic Development of the School of Dentistry. The post holder will lead on the development of the School's Recruitment and Retention Strategy and contribute to supporting the School Operational Programme. The post holder will be a member of the Dental Core Training Executive Committee., NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met.,

• To provide expert advice on Speciality specific matters to the Scheme.
• To support the Head of School / Post graduate Dental Dean and ADD to ensure appropriate systems for Assessment, Rotational Management, Trainee Supervision & Support and other functions within the School.

  Consultant or senior clinician on the Dental Register
• Membership or Fellowship of a Medical or Dental Royal College
• Educational Qualification and experience in line with COPDEND / GDC Standards for Dental Educators
Desirable Formal educational qualification PGCert / FHEA Accreditation or equivalent Skills Essential
• Demonstrable Leadership skills and an ability to motivate others
• A strong sense of vision and an ability to innovate
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral presentation skills
• Committed to own professional development
Experience Essential
• Considerable experience of working with doctors in an educational context
• Experience as an educational supervisor
• Previous or current appointment as a Leader in Healthcare Education
• Understanding of Workforce Transformation agenda
• Awareness of funding streams for Healthcare education
• Clinical Manager Experience

  The post holder will be one of a team of 5 TPDs, their particular area of responsibility will be DCT within Cheshire and Merseyside OMFS units.
The post holder will be tasked with delivery of the objectives set out in the Dental Education Reform Programme and by COPDEND through the DCT Advisory Group. Work in collaboration with Associate Dental Dean for Dental Core Training to develop and implement a Medical and Dental Workforce Strategy which supports the recruitment and retention of Dental Core Trainees, To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.
