Full Job Description
- Management of ESN Planning Activities (WP1) to ensure cost effective, deliverable solutions and ESN Deployment Activities (WP2) to coordinate all aspects of design with other internal/external teams
- Day to day liaison with Openreach VAS team to assure timely delivery of circuits for ESN sites and with Small Works Contractors (SWCs) to assure delivery of fibre, microwave, or satellite connectivity solutions
- Financial management and reporting of budget versus baseline. Reporting and presenting of update on project delivery progress
- Develop solutions which drive down the cost to serve and evolve the capabilities of the backhaul network to meet the challenges of massive traffic growth, geographic penetration, service differentiation and the Emergency Services Network
- Deliver new solutions where required and work closely with design authorities to ensure products are fit for deployment. - Knowledge of 5G, LTE, LTE-A, and other 3GPP architectures and the relevant transport requirements to support them.
- Experience in mobile/fixed telecommunications industry in a delivery role with business-critical, high-availability systems and networks
- Proven background in managing relationships with suppliers and third parties of product/feature selection and of delivering those products into a production environment. Good communication skills with the ability to broker agreement across teams and presenting & communicating technical information to both technical & non-technical personnel
- Practical experience in delivering backhaul solutions for the support of rapid network rollout and capacity enablement. Knowledge of industry best practice methodologies for analysing, defining and documenting the link between input business requirements and output technical solutions
- Additional skills in Project Management techniques, Optical Communications, Mircowave point to point radio, Satellite Transmission Services, Operational Support Systems, Network Management Systems and Data Engineering, would be beneficial
The Emergency Services Network (ESN) is a huge strategic priority for BT and our commitment to do the best for our customer and our country. The ESN will replace the existing Airwave network and building upon on EE's existing 4G network and to provide essential new voice, data services, and critical communications services to 300,000 members of frontline emergency service users. You will be key to transmission delivery for all ESN mobile technologies in the Radio Access Network. Working closely with the Senior Transmission Manager and team you'll be responsible for providing a key dependency that will allow us to remain at the forefront of 4G and able to provide the best possible experience for ESN. This is a strategic position with multiple areas of the business relying on our team to provide their backhaul solution.
