Full Job Description

We have an amazing team of ACP's, Trust grade doctors, Deanery Rotations (FY1, FY2, ST1-ST6, ACCS, GPSTR and Junior Clinical Fellows) plus Specialty Doctors, Associate Specialists & Consultants.
Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be enthusiastic about being part of an innovative multidisciplinary team
Our Emergency assessment unit combines the functions of same day emergency care unit, frailty assessment unit and Emergency department CDU and is located on an adjacent ward area. We are currently undergoing an exciting £47 million pound project to offer high quality modern facilities and designed to create the best environment to care for our patients.
The project will see the creation of a new urgent and emergency care unit which would see surgeons and the medical staff working together at the front door of the emergency unit. This means we can improve and streamline how patients are assessed, admitted and treated, which should reduce the time that people wait in the department, and ultimately improve patient safety., Whilst the posts available do not form part of the formal training programme, we endeavour to offer post holders the same training & educational opportunities as colleagues in training, including paid study leave. You will be provided with clinical/educational supervision, to enable your personal and portfolio development. There is an active Postgraduate Medical Education Centre on both sites, as part of a dynamic Education & Training directorate, which is developing multi-professional training.
The new urgent and emergency care facility is scheduled to open in Spring 2024. Visit https://www.yorkhospitals.nhs.uk/building-for-the-future/innovation-and-technology/building-progress/om/uk/sgh/ to take the virtual tour.
All posts offered will be 12 months in length, from commencement on the 2016 Terms and Conditions.
