Full Job Description

The Frailty SDEC will provide specialist care for rapid assessments, diagnostics, treatment, observations and discharge of patients who attend via an emergency pathway. The new 15 space unit, comprises of three same gender bays of five chairs and will accept direct referrals from GPs, YAS and patients triaged from the Emergency Department (ED). A small number of trollies will be available if deemed necessary. The unit will empty and close at midnight. Frailty SDEC medical support will be delivered by one Advanced Clinical Practitioner or Trust Grade doctor (8am - 8pm) and a Consultant Geriatrician in-reach model (predominantly based in the ED). On-Call consultants will provide support after 5pm.

Candidates must have full GMC Registration, and a familiarity with issues of service organisation and development would be particularly advantageous.
