Trustees

As a Trustee, your role is to work with other Council members to set the strategic direction for the charity and oversee the effective running of the organisation. You will be expected to act as an ambassador for the BSA with our key external audiences and to demonstrate leadership on the BSA's commitment to improving diversity and inclusion in science., This is a volunteer (pro bono) role and there is no salary. Reasonable out of pocket expenses may be claimed on submission of appropriate documentation.

We are currently looking to recruit for two practising scientists with experience of science engagement to join Council, ideally one from academia and one from industry. To get the most out of being on the BSA's Council, we suggest that you have a passion for our vision and goals and can commit to the time and effort required. Our Council members need strategic vision, independent judgement, and an ability to work effectively as part of a team.

The British Science Association believes that all of society should be included in science. Through our education, engagement and policy & advocacy programmes, we work with partners across the UK to bring people and science together in ways that will have a lasting, positive impact on communities, research and society.
