Full Job Description

The incumbent will be a key member of the UK Controls and Regulatory In-Business Risk team reporting to the Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) UK In-Business Risk Lead. The role integrates in-depth risks and controls knowledge with a solid understanding of the TTS UK franchise. More specifically, the individual will play a key role in managing and mitigating operational, compliance and regulatory risks, and executing risk and control responsibilities for the business as a First Line of Defence function. Further, the individual will support the preparation of multiple governance forum submissions for the TTS UK franchise. The individual will act as SME to the wider In Business Risk team, work very closely with Product In Business Risk as well as the wider Citi Risk and Control community, and have senior management exposure. She/He will contribute supporting the TTS senior manager under the UK Senior Manager Regime. What you'll do:

  • Support the Business with the implementation of global, regional and local regulatory requirements, by maintaining in particular, oversight over the timely execution of the Regulatory Change Management process. Keep abreast of regulatory changes, new regulations and internal policy changes in order to further identify new key risk areas and ensure future compliance state. Support specific regulatory reporting expectations.
  • Oversight and co-ordination of TTS UK Issues and Corrective Action Plans supporting their timely and appropriate closure. Where applicable, support the documentation, implementation and remediation of Issues and Corrective Action Plans.
  • Timely execution and oversight of the MCA process for TTS UK, including ensuring that key risks are adequately covered in MCA. Facilitation of the Quarterly and Annual Risk Assessments, testing of key controls and monitoring of key indicators, delivery of management reporting. Support the execution of the MCA transformation for TTS UK, working in close partnership with the global In-Business Risk team and other key stakeholders.
  • Review and challenge of Operational Risk Events impacting TTS UK. Conduct trend analysis to subsequently enhance the risk and control environment.
  • Collation, preparation and contribution of inputs required for timely submissions to the numerous UK In-Business Risk and Governance forums e.g. TTS UK Risk and Control Forum, Regulatory Working Group, Quarterly and Annual Risk Reviews, UK Business Risk Compliance and Control, UK Outsourcing & Third-Party Management Committee, etc… .
  • Support compliance with Continuity of Business and Record Management requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with TTS Product and Functional partners, TTS risk stripe leads, UK Franchise, Global In-Business Risk partners, and second and third lines of defense.

    Significant experience in Risk and Control role(s).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects across teams and work effectively under pressure in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent organisational and tracking skills.
  • Problem solver with the ability to translate plans in actions, and consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex tasks or situations into digestible summaries to provide insightful commentaries to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and re-engineer processes, looking for ways to do things more efficiently and effectively. Ability to challenge constructively roles and responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel and PowerPoint.
