Underwriter

AmTrust International are now looking for an Underwriter to join our London based team.

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in actuarial or risk management? Do you thrive in a fast -paced environment where you can apply your analytical and numerical expertise, taking large sets of data and turning them into usable information?

Focusing on providing counsel and advice on all underwriting matters relating to Warranty accounts, and providing technical expertise as well as developing and maintaining this business, key responsibilities within this role will include (but are not limited to):

Support the development, implementation and execution of operational plans to meet strategic aims and corporate objectives.
Evaluate appropriate risks by considering the risk costs, reinsurance cessions, capital exposure as well as the underwriting and general administrative costs to ensure profitability, using rating models as applicable.
Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio of Warranty business as part of the Warranty team, taking ownership of performance for allocated accounts and new business.
Leverage networking opportunities within the business to develop standardized underwriting policy and best practice within AmTrust.

Successful candidates should have strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to work with large data sets as well as a solid background in general underwriting. And actuarial background as well as knowledge of warranty products including electrical, motor & personal device protection would be beneficial.
