Full Job Description

Join our innovative Civil Engineering team as a Civil Engineer, where your skills will be essential in solving engineering challenges and delivering top-notch designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports while ensuring regulatory compliance. Collaborating with the Senior Civil Engineer, you will conceptualise water and wastewater treatment works and infrastructure designs.

Your insights will help develop project briefs, ensuring we achieve optimal engineering solutions throughout our projects. Please become part of a sustainable engineering framework guiding Thames Water's success as we move into AMP8 and beyond, positively impacting our community and the environment.

What you'll be doing

+ Analysing root causes of problems at our treatment works or in the network.
+ Undertaking site visits.
+ Ensuring that safe, sustainable designs are developed.
+ Preparing calculations, designs, study reports, specifications, drawings and H&S documentation.
+ Liaising with other engineering disciplines to ensure that the civil engineering design caters for their requirements.
+ Provide civil engineering input into asset surveys, plant condition assessments, feasibility. studies, optioneering, whole-life costing, and preliminary designs.

Based in Hybrid, Clearwater Court, you will be required on-site as part of your role requires you to, on average 2-3 days a week.

36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

+ Be educated to degree level or other appropriate technical qualification in Civil Engineering.
+ Understand the regulatory environment to achieve compliance with our Engineering regulatory requirements.
+ Possess the ability to use your initiative and undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
+ Have excellent communication and influencing skills to engage with our colleagues and stakeholders clearly.
+ Deliver exceptional service through a passionate and positive approach, taking accountability for your role while working accurately and flexibly within a busy team.

+ Competitive salary from £40,000 to £50,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience of the successful candidate.
+ 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays).
