Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Viral Hepatitis Support Nurse. This post is part time 22.5 hours per week.
This is an exciting venture as we are in the process of expanding the out-reach treatment service to patients within the East Suffolk, North Essex geographical area.
Our department provides a dedicated Viral Hepatitis Service including Nurse led clinics to manage on-going treatment and care. The immediate core team consists of Consultant Hepatologists, Nurse Specialists, Support Nurses, Pharmacist and secretarial support. The service is forward thinking and continually seeks to develop new innovative models of care to ensure that patients with Viral Hepatitis are provided with ongoing, consistent and timely treatment.
You should have experience of working on your own initiative and prioritising workload as well as having excellent communication skills.
Interviews planned for 13th November 2024, + To manage a nursing caseload of viral hepatitis patients undergoing anti-viral therapy and post treatment as necessary - working with the inter-disciplinary team to facilitate care.
+ To make decisions independently regarding clinical care and priorities. To be visible in the clinical area and act as a resource for both staff and patients/clients.
+ To support a nurse led outreach service to manage and treat viral hepatitis patients within Suffolk, Northeast Essex and the local prison population.
+ To act as patient advocate in line with the NHS plan and to actively apply in depth knowledge of holistic/socio-economic and cultural aspects of the care to clients within your specific specialty, acting as a role model and resource for patients, relatives, and staff. This will include patient choice.
+ To promote and ensure that nursing documentation is accountable, defensible documentation, maintained to the Trust standard (including electronic records). To work according to protocol and ensure quality care provision through regular audit.
+ To champion current trends and developments in nursing, education, and practice development in the NHS.
+ Identify clinical risks and ensure that appropriate action is taken, in accordance with the Trust Risk Management policy, providing expert advice and focusing on principles of learning organisation, Along with supporting you to achieve your career goals we offer a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (where applicable), 27 days annual leave on commencement (pro rata) and access to a range of NHS discounts.
