Full Job Description

Are you passionate, enthusiastic, well organised and wanting to make a difference? We are looking for motivated and passionate individual who wants to work as part of the team to help provide exceptional care to a range of children and their families. We have a full time post available for a Band 2 ward clerk Woodlands ward is a Paediatric 16 bedded ward with an additional clinical assessment unit for general medical and surgical paediatric patients as well as day admissions. The unit can be a busy unit and therefore we are looking for someone who can multi task well and is organised. Please feel free to contact for further detail., The post holder will:

  • Liaise with patients on the ward and their family.
  • Have an excellent telephone manner
  • Will assist all members of the MDT to perform their roles to the best of their ability.
  • Assist in arranging discharge plans / follow up appointments for patients.
  • Have an understanding of the hospital systems including PCS
  • To act as a host and receptionist to children, their families and visitors
  • To demonstrates due diligence whilst maintaining and promoting effective working practices commensurate with the post.
  • Maintains confidentiality relating to the welfare and treatment of patients and staff at all times.
  • To be flexible to work in different areas within the unit as required
