Full Job Description

What will you do during the scheme?

You’ll be spending just under a year immersed in our dynamic culture working on diverse projects whilst gaining hands on experience in our health, safety and wellbeing teams who cover some of the following areas:

· Workforce safety team - who look after the safety of our track workers.

· Standards and Controls team - who manage and support the publication of our company standards.

· Reporting and assurance team - who collect, analyse and give insight on our health and safety data.

· Safety culture and leadership team - who work across NR to improve engagement and performance.

· Occupational health team - who monitor and ensure the health and wellbeing of our workforce.

What are the entry requirements?

To join the scheme, you will need to be in your penultimate year at University and looking for a Year in Industry placement, and on track to achieve at least a 2:2 in a degree which includes ideally at least one of the following areas:

· Occupational Health and Safety

· Human factors engineering

· Statistics and/or Data science

· Electro-mechanical engineering

· Technical writing

· Have a good grounding in MS applications and solid I.T skills.

· Can organise activities for yourself and others to ensure projects progress as planned., Safe behaviour is a requirement of working for Network Rail. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their awareness of our Safety Vision

We have a great opportunity in our Health, Safety and Wellbeing team within the Technical Authority function for a year in industry student. Our teams is pivotal in Network Rail as we support the organisation’s goal ensuring that everyone gets home safe every day.
