Full Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Senior Business Support Officer to provide essential support to our Head of Service. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth running of daily operations and providing high-level administrative assistance. You will manage a varied and often fast-paced workload while supporting senior leadership.,

  • Assist the Head of Service with inbox management, diary coordination, and prioritising workloads.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for queries via email and telephone, offering professional and empathetic responses.
  • Accurately log and case-manage incoming requests, updating systems and spreadsheets accordingly.
  • Take ownership of workstreams and drive them forward independently, resolving issues where possible.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and teams across the council.

    We are looking for an individual who is dependable, organised, and proactive. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Proven experience in a Business Support Officer role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence in phone-based communication and drafting concise emails.
  • Strong case management skills and proficiency in working with data and spreadsheets.
  • The ability to work effectively in fast-paced, changing environments.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders and managing competing demands.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience working within or alongside homelessness services is an advantage.
