Full Job Description

We're looking for a Youth Development Coach to join our team at The Foyer, Malvern, supporting young people aged 16-25, including care leavers. You'll play a vital role in helping them overcome challenges, develop life skills, and take confident steps toward independence. You'll offer both emotional and practical support - whether that's helping someone build a life skills plan, navigate a tough conversation, or signposting them to local mental health, education, or housing services when extra help is needed. You'll never be doing it alone - you'll work alongside a supportive team and a wider network of professionals to make sure every young person gets the right help, at the right time. You'll ensure our young people aren't navigating challenges alone whilst they feel safe, respected and empowered where they live. The role includes having a strong understanding of safeguarding and being able to identify when someone might be at risk, as well as recognising and addressing issues early - always with a supportive, restorative approach. You'll work closely with internal teams and external services to make sure our young people feel safe, respected, and empowered where they live. This is a part-time role (25.75 hours per week), working a mix of day and evening shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. Shifts typically run from 8:30am to 5:30pm or 5:00pm to midnight plus 7 sleep-ins per month, with £5,506 annual sleep-in allowance. We know working with young people can bring unexpected challenges, which is why you'll never be left without support:

  • You'll be part of a buddy system from day one and with regular check ins with your manager
  • Lone working procedures are in place and regularly reviewed. Your safety and wellbeing is not compromised
  • Full PPE is provided when needed

    You'll be someone who genuinely wants to support young people in building brighter, more independent futures. With a calm, confident approach and a caring nature, you'll bring positivity and purpose to each interaction.
  • You don't need to come from a youth-specific background - if you've worked in housing, care, or support roles, you'll already have valuable skills that transfer well. What matters most is that you're resilient, committed, and ready to make a difference. You'll also have good digital skills, and you'll be confident keeping accurate records, writing reports, and communicating effectively both face to face and in writing. You'll also have;
  • an understanding of safeguarding and anti-social behaviors
  • You'll know how to set and maintain strong professional boundaries
  • You'll bring a kind, proactive attitude, and build trust with the young people you support
  • Drivers License and access to a car is preferred however there is some flexibility on this

    Join us and find your purpose at Platform!
  • Working with us is more than just a job, you will be joining an amazing organisation that values you and your contribution, and where you can truly make a difference and change people's lives. You will join the largest social housing association in the Midlands. We're much more than just houses; we build homes, strong communities, and make a real and positive difference to the lives of our customers. We recognise the unique and individual needs of people, so if you are interested in this role but would like to explore a different way of working to the standard Monday to Friday, 9-5 approach, then please highlight this on your application or discuss it with us at the interview stage. After all, we want to attract the best people to work for us and we know that one size does not fit all. Platform is a great place to work, we offer lots of opportunities for you to get involved, share ideas and shape what we do - from networking groups through to fun community and social events. This is an exciting time to join us, that will provide you with real exposure to the wider dynamics of a truly modern housing association that will play a major part in delivering our 5-year corporate strategy., We put colleagues and customers at the heart of all we do. Valuing difference, we are free to challenge each other and are open and honest in our relationships. Own It We say what we'll do and then we do it. We listen, understand and are empowered to make decisions. We look for our own ways to learn and adapt and focus on what we can do. One Team We are connected, collaborative and in it together. We want everyone to reach their potential and be the best they can be. We actively support each other to make this happen. Be Brave We are curious and courageous. We look for better ways to do things, are comfortable trying them and learn quickly. We are not afraid to stand out from the rest and celebrate our successes.
