Full Job Description
Working within a small team, the Financial Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounts receivable and cashier functions.
The role is also responsible for providing financial support to the Charity fundholders; which includes the preparation of quarterly reports for the Charitable Funds Committee and monthly statements to fundholders.

Main duties of the job
Assist in the preparation of the charitable funds annual accounts in line with the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) 2005.
Prepare the financial reports for the quarterly charitable funds committee, in line with the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) 2005.
Assist in the completion of the Charity sheets in the annual NHSI return.
Reconcile a range of balance sheet control accounts including payroll related control accounts. To identify, investigate and recode balances on these accounts as appropriate.
Raise various monthly journals as part of the month end reporting, within month end deadlines. These will include journal relating to the Charity and Trust funds.
Assist in preparing year end working papers and other ad hoc year end processes.
Provide financial support to the Charity, this will include VAT advice and ensuring controls on expenditure are maintained.
To provide cover for the Cashiering function when required.
Liaise with external and internal auditors. Providing them with information on financial systems and controls.
To develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge on the VAT rules associated with the Trust's income.
