Your role and responsibilities

Here's a glimpse into what your typical week will look like:

- Managing the team's calendars, ensuring everyone is aware of upcoming events and deadlines. You'll also be responsible for managing our busy inbox.
- You'll be the go-to person for planning and organising upcoming training events, including the preparation of supporting materials.
- Using your excellent communication skills, you'll liaise with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting the team in assessments, exams and personal development processes for staff across the service.
- You'll analyse data and generate reports to support continuous service improvement.
- You'll help us keep our financial administration running smoothly by preparing annual budgets and monitoring income and expenditure., Step 3 - Please use the Supporting Statement template to answer the questions below, using no more than 400 words per question.

- strong verbal and written communication skills to confidently interact with internal and external stakeholders
- the ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain self-motivation to get things done
- a genuine interest in learning and development is essential.
While not required, an understanding of Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service would be beneficial.

The team

Our Workforce Planning and Development Team includes Learning and Development, Recruitment and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion teams. You will support learning & development and recruitment as we hire On-Call Firefighters, Wholetime Firefighters, and non-operational staff, providing clear development pathways for staff to become skilled professionals.

Our teams operate in various locations across Suffolk, with Learning and Development based at the Fire Service Training Centre in Wattisham and the Recruitment Team located at HQ at Endeavour House in Ipswich. There may be instances where work is required in other locations across the county as directed by department managers.

There are no public transport links to Wattisham, so a full driving licence and personal transport are beneficial, or you must be able to travel by other reasonable means., Disability Confident

£27,711 per annum (pro rata for part time)
