Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced College Accountant to join our Bursary team in Summertown, Oxford. St Clare's is more than a traditional boarding school. It is open to students for 48 weeks a year and aims to ensure that its facilities are fully utilised, and that student recruitment is strong across all courses. We are looking for a motivated and proactive qualified accountant with a personable approach, ready to offer advice at all levels and add value to the wider business. Job overview The College Accountant is responsible for ensuring sound financial probity across the college's four business streams. The role comprises of four distinct areas: 1. To ensure that St Clare's accounts are maintained in an accurate, timely and effective manner. 2. To maintain financial control over St Clare's assets, income and expenditure. 3. To provide regular timely and accurate reports on St Clare's financial position. 4. To manage the staff and work of the Bursary. The details of the post are: Contract status: Permanent, requests for flexible and hybrid working will also be considered. Hours of work: 35 hours per week. Unless agreed otherwise within college hours of Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 with a 1-hour lunchbreak (unpaid). The Employee may be required to work outside normal hours of employment to meet the needs of the business. This may include some weekends and evenings. Flexibility will be required. Salary/pay: Salary range to £65,000 per annum depending on skills and experience Holidays: 29 days plus bank holidays per annum of which 4 must be taken between 24th December and 1st January inclusive each year when the College is closed.
