Location: Manchester / Liverpool / Sheffield / Leeds

Joining Arup

Arup's purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Electrical Services Engineer you will be a key part of the Building Services Engineering Senior Team, managing multidisciplinary projects while providing technical support and mentoring to the other Electrical engineers. We currently have a number of significant datacentre projects in the geography. You will be part of a collaborative team of over 35 engineers and technicians in the Manchester office and a wider 100+ engineers and technicians within the North West & Yorkshire region.

The role will see you:

  • Working in an interdisciplinary environment and aiming to design buildings that maximise value for our clients whilst minimising their environmental impact.
  • Playing an active role in all stages of our projects from feasibility through to completion across a number of sectors, in particular datacentres, but also including healthcare, labs, commercial, residential, education, energy, sport and mixed-use developments.
  • Playing a part in the ever-increasing digital transformation of our business, seeking new ways to increase our efficiency through automation and to offer new services to our clients through our integrated digital approach to design.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective - in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.

You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning - to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

We're looking for a candidate who:

  • Is degree qualified in Electrical Services Engineering, ideally to MEng level.
  • Has achieved Chartered Engineer status via an appropriate professional institution such as IET or CIBSE (or is close to obtaining one).
  • Has had lead design responsibility on projects for the Electrical Services Engineering.
  • Has experience of working within a BIM environment using Revit.
