You will oversee and enhance our library's front-line services. You will lead a small team of Library Service Advisors and Library Shelving Assistants to deliver exceptional service to our diverse and vibrant community. • Team Leadership: Manage, recruit, train, and develop a dedicated team of Library Service Advisors and Shelving Assistants.
• Customer Service: Champion high standards of customer care, leading by example to provide an excellent experience for students and acting as the first point of contact for concerns or complaints.
• Operational Oversight: Ensure smooth workflows and maintain optimal staff coverage during library opening hours.
• Library Environment: Maintain a safe and attractive study space in partnership with internal teams like Estates, IT Services, and Security.
• Project Work: Contribute to cross-departmental initiatives to innovate and introduce new services and technologies that will benefit the student experience.
  
  No prior experience of working in a library is required, but the successful candidate must have strong customer service and people management skills alongside a good level of literacy, administrative skills, and IT skills. You should thrive in a busy environment, excel at problem-solving, have the ability to multitask and lead by example. You must be passionate about creating positive experiences for students and have a keen interest in service improvement and operational efficiency.
