The School of Computer Science is excited be hiring for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level in High-Performance Computing. Candidates to complement the interests of our existing High-Performance Computing research group in performance portability and scalable architectures are especially encouraged to apply. The appointee will be expected to carry out internationally leading research in these areas, as well as taking an active role in providing high quality innovative teaching across Computer Science, specialising in computer architecture, cloud computing and high-performance computing. Interest in developing innovative ways of integrating teaching, research and technology development will be especially welcomed. The High-Performance Computing research group, led by Professor Simon McIntosh-Smith and Dr Tom Deakin are the lead architects of the £225m Isambard-AI supercomputer at the University of Bristol. The group's research addresses applications of heterogeneous and many-core computing to solve large-scale scientific problems, including performance portability across many-core devices, and advanced computer architectures and simulation. The group maintains an experimental cluster of some of the fastest and most exotic GPUs and accelerators in the world, and is an Intel oneAPI Center of Excellence, and part of the University of Bristol Arm Centre of Excellence. The group has longstanding partnerships with industry and holds significant funding from government, UKRI, industry and other partners. Our facilities will rapidly grow as part of institutional investment in the £300m Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus.What will you be doing?

• Design and deliver excellent teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, maximizing opportunities for student learning and engagement.
• Develop high-quality and innovative teaching materials, conduct lectures, supervise projects, and provide personal tutoring.
• Engage in internationally leading research complementing the School's activities, focusing on producing high-quality publications in top venues.
• Actively seek funding opportunities from government and/or industrial sources to support research endeavours.
  
  Candidates will have a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline and may have equivalent experience in industry. A track record of publishing in top venues and applying for external funding appropriate to the career stage is highly desirable. The potential for leadership, undertaking research collaborations with colleagues from top international labs, and to collaborate on impactful translation of ideas with relevant industrial partners is desirable. The successful candidate will be able to design and deliver excellent teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and will be committed to making the most of opportunities.
