Full Job Description

The Acute and Emergency administrator will support a range of administrative functions across the acute and emergency floor, inclusive of ED, AMU and SDEC, in order to support the nursing and medical staff with the daily administration of the areas.

  • be an excellent communicator both written and verbally.
  • be polite and welcoming to all which may include patients, staff and visitors. Often you will be the first point of contact of the ward , either in person or on the phone; first impressions count hugely and maintaining confidentiality is very important too.
  • be adaptable and flexible to ever changing situations which, during busy times, may mean that you are side tracked from your own work plan and the ability be able to understand that in a health care setting, not every day is the same or predictable all the time
  • have knowledge of , or will have the confidence to learn how to use different computer software systems namely at present we use Maxims and access Symphony system
  • be organised and have the ability to encourage others to follow your example.
  • have a understanding of ordering supplies and managing resources needed for your role
