Full Job Description

  • To oversee and provide clinical leadership for the pelvic health and maternity physiotherapy team with implementation of the perinatal pelvic health services.
  • To undertake an Advanced Clinical Practitioner clinical and leadership role within pelvic health/maternity department at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
  • To provide highly specialised physiotherapy assessment and management to a highly specialised clinical caseload that frequently have complex and / or chronic or life limiting conditions, without supervision.
  • Interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical data to form accurate diagnoses and prognoses informing complex decision making ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient focused care.
  • To act as an expert Advanced Clinical Practitioner and leader within the wider musculoskeletal therapies team
  • To support the Professional lead of Therapies in the development of relevant service and clinical initiatives and modernisations.
  • To act as the lead clinical representative on agreed clinical and service development groups and boards.
  • To provide highly specialist care of complex patients including Advanced Clinical interventions and management as appropriate.
  • To provide expert training, advice and clinical education to service providers, service users and service commissioners.
  • To lead and support audit and research projects and identify opportunities for research in relation to Pelvic Health services in order to evaluate service delivery.

We are a GOOD rated hospital following CQC inspection and are looking to employ a highly skilled, forward thinking, dynamic individual as a clinical specialist Physiotherapist working in pelvic health and maternity. The post is suitable for an experienced physiotherapist with past leadership and service development experience. The post will be operating across the Outpatient Physiotherapy department and, working with individuals with a variety of complex needs. The successful applicant will have extensive NHS pelvic health and maternity experience and possess excellent assessment, clinical reasoning, treatment and teaching skills.,
  • Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy MSc or equivalent experience
  • HCPC Registered
  • Extensive post graduate clinical experience
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering a service based on the needs of the patient
  • Service development and clinical leadership experience within a multi-faceted organisation
  • Experience of mentoring and training clinical staff and students, across multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience of using research and other evidence to inform and drive practice
  • Extensive Post Graduate training in maternity/pelvic health conditions
  • Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in an extended scope role/ Advanced Clinical Practitioner role
  • Change management experience
  • Experience of leading clinical governance initiatives, Proven experience of leading a team
  • Clinical Leadership training or equivalent
  • Experience of proactively engaging with service users and commissioners
  • Experience of leading clinical governance initiatives, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
