Full Job Description

This is an ongoing role, providing consistent support to the learner. Helping to provide GCSE prep to a SEMH student.,

  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans tailored to R S-R's specific educational needs, with a focus on GCSE subjects.
  • Create a trusting and encouraging learning environment, recognizing R S-R's challenges in connecting with adults and prior difficulties in educational settings.
  • Support R S-R with effective study strategies, especially considering her SEMH challenges and dyslexia, to ensure sustained engagement and academic progress.
  • Offer guidance on post-16 education and career options to facilitate a smooth transition after GCSEs.

    Proven experience in tutoring or teaching GCSE subjects, preferably with learners who have SEMH needs or learning differences such as dyslexia.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young learners who may struggle with adult interactions.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to create an environment where the learner feels safe, valued, and encouraged.
  • Preferred Qualities:
  • Background in SEMH education or specialized training in working with learners with additional needs.
  • Commitment to fostering both academic and personal growth for learners in a flexible, student-centered manner.
