Full Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to share your professional knowledge and expertise as part of Suffolk New College's delivery of the Apollo project, supporting recruitment and retention and training of existing and future Health & Social Care professionals within the region.
The Apollo project is an NHS East of England project run in conjunction with the Integrated Care Board and aims to support recruitment and retention within the Health & Social Care sector through a range of themes.
As the Apollo Health and Social Care Project Lecturer, you will be required to work towards the successful achievement of our Apollo targets and objectives with an emphasis on planning, delivery and assessment for learning programmes and training to a range of people (mainly but not exclusively adult learners) including those who are unemployed, looking to move into employment in care or for a career change, as well as upskilling those already employed within the sector. As such, you will be required to work closely with employers, the DWP, and other relevant organisations to successfully develop and recruit to the programmes you will offer.
To meet the objectives of the Apollo project and Suffolk New College, you will work alongside the Health and Social Care teaching staff and Suffolk New College's Projects team. You will work both onsite at the college and around the region with Health & Social Care organisations and employers to establish their needs, address the skills gaps, and to support your learners in within those organisations to fill those aforementioned skills gaps and shortages. Therefore, you will work closely with the learners and employers where you will be required to train, assess, support and guide new learners and existing Health & Social Care professionals with a particular emphasis on skills development.
We are keen to hear from you if you can demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for Health and Social Care and have the ability to encourage and inspire learners.
You should have relevant and up-to-date industry experience, ideally supported by a Level 3 qualification or industry related equivalent in a relevant field, have experience of training and/or skills workshop delivery, excellent communication, professional relationship building and networking skills, along with a Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in Maths and English. Suffolk New College can provide relevant teacher training to those individuals who can demonstrate the potential to become effective teachers.
In return we can offer you a team environment that is committed to giving our learners the best experience possible to enable them to work competently and confidently out in industry.
If you are looking to move into education as part of your career plan, or you may have industry related skills and experience which could be transferrable, providing you are the right candidate for the job, we will provide you with an excellent level of support to guide you through your training and development and to gain the required qualifications.
Due to the nature of this role access to personal transport is essential in order to travel to learners' workplaces. If using your own vehicle, it is a requirement for your car insurance to cover business use and evidence of this will be requested by finance before any travel claims are paid., Whether you are looking for a full-time contract or have the ability to work with us on a more flexible basis, we would love to hear from you., Disability Confident
