Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term for 6 Months
Join us to be a valued part of our Technical Services team.
The Quality Control Team oversee the effective and efficient maintenance, alteration, and improvement of Council properties which are owned and managed by the Housing Division. As a team of specialist Technicians, we look for ways to improve and enhance outcomes for the benefit of customers and the service.
This is a full time, fixed term position for 6 months, working 37 hours per week. You'll be predominantly work from home; however, you'll be required to undertake site visits when required to undertake inspections. The team is based at our Mowmacre Housing Office.
What you'll be doing
We are responsible for surveys, advice, arranging asbestos removals and remedial works, monitoring contractors, monitoring and developing policies and procedures relating to the presence of asbestos in properties owned by the Housing Division. You'll undertake Management and Refurbishment & Demolition Surveys, as well as Property Inspections. You'll prepare specifications and plans, including CAD drawings to enable repair work to take place. Visiting properties and sites, you'll inspect and survey as well as deal with customer enquiries. Working closely with internal repairs teams and outside contractors, you'll ensure swift completion of works.
What you'll need
You'll need a P402 qualification in Asbestos sampling and substantial practical experience, in this work area. You'll have experience and knowledge of buildings and maintenance as well as practical knowledge of building industry regulations and health & safety. Highly organised, you'll be able to work under pressure and prioritise tasks to meet agreed timescales & targets. You'll be able to work on your own initiative, as well as part of a team, to achieve service objectives. A problem solver, with a passion for making a difference, you'll be committed to ensuring work delivered is of a high quality.
You'll need to have a full driving licence and access to a car.
