Full Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Headteacher to lead and manage our pastoral teams to provide a positive, secure and values led environment for the students where each student has a sense of achievement, belonging and worth. The successful candidate will work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure outstanding levels of pastoral care and professional leadership and management of the pastoral teams. This will require the effective use of resources within the school, the ability to understand and motivate the different pastoral teams while striving to continually improve the standards, achievements and attendance of all students.,

  • To model exemplary relationships with staff and pupils, demonstrating to the school community how high expectations can be maintained alongside high quality relationships and communication.
  • Supporting the Headteacher with the leadership of the safeguarding team
  • Lead, manage and have strategic oversight of the implementation of the school's pastoral systems
  • Management of whole school attendance
  • Identification of key improvement for that area, followed by planning of activities with key success indicators and milestones.
  • Lead aspects of the School Improvement Plan and Self Evaluation relating to the agreed area.
  • Provide effective line management and leadership of identified team leaders.
  • To model outstanding practice in the classroom, including teaching, planning and feedback
  • Attend and participate in all SLT meetings, presenting reports and updates as required
  • Leadership & Management
  • Share the responsibility for the leadership of the school and contribute to the decision-making processes of school leadership.
  • To take a lead in the maintaining of high standards of behaviour and dress code.
  • To raise expectations and standards of learning and teaching
  • To provide professional leadership and management to secure improvement in achievement and attainment for all students
  • To actively promote the ethos and policies of the school.
  • To communicate and consult with governors, staff, students, parents/carers and members of the wider school community.

    The Assistant Headteacher is a senior manager and leader within the school and has a key role to play in both the strategic development of the school and the day to day management of it. We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates a positive and successful impact on the experience and outcomes for young people, alongside the raising of standards in staff performance. You must have strategic and operational safeguarding experience.
