Are you an Assistant Psychologist looking for diversity in your clinical work? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Assistant Psychologist to join our thriving Older Adult Psychology Team within CTMUHB, on a full-time and permanent basis. The successful candidate will work across localities, working within Memory Assessment Services (MAS), experiencing the breadth and diversity of clinical work that this area has to offer. The CTMUHB Older Adult Psychology Team consists of a supportive and passionate team of colleagues, including experienced Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists and Psychological Therapists. The successful candidate will be well supported and mentored by senior colleagues, and provided with a range of opportunities for career development. The wider Psychology service within CTMUHB has undergone exciting developments in recent years and is a thriving department to sit within. We hold regular conferences throughout the year, where psychology teams across CTMUHB come together to share good practice and innovations within the trust and wider. We have close links with local Doctoral Clinical/Counselling Psychology programmes and provide regular training and placement opportunities to Trainees., This role provides an opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to work within the Memory Assessment Service (MAS), providing a high quality psychology service to multi-disciplinary teams across CTMUHB. This work will primarily include supporting the set-up and running of various Psychology-led courses and groups across the localities. These include both psycho-educational courses and psychological therapy groups, within MAS for service users and carers. There are opportunities to develop skills in providing both individual and group psychological interventions, under supervision from Psychologists. The successful candidate will have opportunities to develop skills in Neuropsychological Assessment and pre-/post-diagnostic intervention as appropriate for those within the MAS pathway. There are also opportunities within the service for the conduct of audits and completion of research projects, teaching and project work. Within CTMUHB Older Adult Mental Health services are currently divided into five areas: Bridgend, Rhondda, Cynon, Taff and Merthyr - each area has has a Memory Assessment Service (MAS), and Psychology provide input across all. The successful candidate for this post will work across localities, but will have a designated base, and sit within well-established multi-disciplinary teams (MDT).

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
