Full Job Description

You will be working across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland as part of a wide-ranging MDT, supporting a huge variety of patients with a learning disability and communication difficulties. You will be working in homes, day services, with carers, families and the individuals themselves to ensure that everyone is included in the planning and delivery of care. We also have the opportunity to work in our LD Crisis Support team supporting urgent communication assessments. You will find us a supportive team, with lots of supervision, CPD opportunities and the chance to develop special interests.   • Contribute to the delivery of the Communication Strategy and the Eating and Drinking Care Pathway with access to professional advice and guidance.
  • Be responsible for their own workload with support around prioritisation.
  • Work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team and with other agencies
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training to others in relation to individual clients
  • Supervise the work of assistants, volunteers and students as required when fully registered with RCSLT
  • Contribute to development and audit projects
  • Demonstrate clinical effectiveness by the use of evidence based practice and outcome measures
