Band 6 Advanced Theatre Practitioner - Ophthalmology

To help coordinate the skilled care of patients within the theatre specialty; demonstrating expertise in all aspects of the care of patients. As required, to provide direct support to clinicians and patients. To contribute to the management of the specialty by acting as a professional role model; able to confidently lead a team.

• RN or RODP
• Mentorship or teaching and assessing qualification
• Post registration qualification/module in anaesthetics and/or surgery and/or recovery and/or HDU
Desirable criteria
• Diploma/Degree
• Leadership/management training
• Surgical First Assistant module/qualification, Essential criteria
• Able to demonstrate considerable experience in anaesthetics and/or surgery and/or recovery
• Experience of teaching and assessing
Desirable criteria
• Evidence of professional development
• Experience of acting as Surgical First Assistant, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
