Full Job Description

I am a young female adult living with my parents in our family home, in Mansfield. I have an acquired brain injury which causes me to have complex epilepsy and non-epileptic seizures. I can have multiple seizures a day and my brain injury has impacted my cognitive ability. I have always been cared for by my parents and education but as I become an adult, I now need a team of personal assistants to support me to have more independence. I like to have a purpose each day and need my personal assistants to be patient and understanding of my needs, I enjoy arts and crafts and watching films and sports and would like to join a gym so having someone who would enjoy supporting that will be helpful. I am looking to recruit a team of Personal assistants who can support me with day-to-day living, learning through play, support my emotional well-being, personal care and accessing the community., During term time I will require somebody to support me up to 24 hours per week, on a Monday, Friday and Saturday. During non-term time I will require support for 8 hours per day Monday- Friday. A Rota will be planned and agreed in advance. Anyone looking to apply needs to consider that my hours of support may change depending on my future with college so my team will need to offer some flexibility with their hours to support changes.

The ideal candidate will live locally to me, be flexible, patient, have a calm presence and a genuine caring nature. You will need to be enthusiastic and inspiring to bring a sense of energy into my life. You must also be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism andintegrity, promoting my independence and respecting my family and my home.

Solo Support Services recognises that everyone has the right to be safe from abuse and neglect. We will actively promote the safety, health and well-being of everyone in our care by fostering an honest, open, caring and supportive climate within the organisation. We believe that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

The hourly rate of pay is £12.45 per hour and all training is paid for including the hours to complete the necessary training. An in-depth training package will be delivered to my team to support you to understand how to care for me and to meet my needs., In return for your dedication, you'll receive a competitive rate of pay in addition to:

  • 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata for part-time positions).
  • Company pension scheme after 3 months' service, subject to the scheme rules.
  • Opportunity to join our Cash Back Health Plan, after successful completion of the probation period.
  • Free training and development for all roles.
  • Access to wellbeing and support tools.
  • 'Star of the Month' rewards and 'Long Service Awards'.
  • And so much more!
