Full Job Description

The Medicines Effectiveness Team are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity to join the newly established Best Value Medicines and Biologics Team in OUHFT. This innovative team, alongside the Medicines Effectiveness Team, will play a pivotal role in driving cost-saving initiatives across biologic medicines while ensuring that patients continue to receive the highest standards of care.

The Best Value Medicines and Biologics Team will focus on identifying, promoting, and implementing strategies to maximise cost-saving opportunities for both commissioners and the Trust. By evaluating and optimising biologic prescribing and usage, the team will ensure that value for money is achieved across the healthcare system, while maintaining clinical effectiveness and safety., As a member of this dynamic team, you will work collaboratively with clinical and financial stakeholders, including prescribers, pharmacists, commissioners, homecare and procurement teams, to identify areas where cost efficiencies can be made, particularly in the use of biosimilars and other biologic therapies.

The post holder will play in pivotal role in mobilising identified cost saving initiatives and create a framework for the fast and efficient implementation of cost saving initiatives.

We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence.

These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.
