Full Job Description

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Blood Science Laboratory within the Pathology Department at Prince Philip Hospital as a Band 2 Blood Science Support Worker.

The post is part time, 32 hours per week and there is a requirement to participate on the evening, weekend and bank holiday rota (there is extra remuneration for staff on this rota).

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a wide range of duties appropriate to the job role including specimen reception duties involving receipt, preparation, processing, storage and disposal of clinical laboratory specimens and samples., The role includes Specimen Reception duties, where the post holders will receipt, prepare, process, store and dispose of clinical laboratory specimens and samples.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

48 General Practices (GP surgeries), 49 Dental Practices, 98 Community Pharmacies (chemists), 44 General Ophthalmic Practices (including eye health and low vision services), 38 sites providing mental health and learning disability services, care within your own homes.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales., £23,970 a year per annum (pro rata if part time)
