Full Job Description

The Breast Cancer team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation trust is an exemplar service. The CNSs work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary team (MDT), the medical clinicians and ward teams to provide a holistic and patient centred service. You would provide support for patients throughout their cancer pathway from diagnosis, through surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The culture is one of inclusivity and mutual respect with a focus on continuing development and innovation. The speciality has a focus on research and wherever possible ensure that the patients have access to clinical trials. The service is based in the acute hospital trust during core hours Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays. WHAT YOU'LL DO The role will include practicing at an advanced level to provide in-depth knowledge on the care pathway and complex needs of patients with breast cancer and will include working clinically with patients and carers from the time of referral to provide specialist nursing advice and practical and psychosocial support including Holistic Assessment and a Personalised care plan.

We are looking for a current senior Band 5 or a Band 6 senior nurse or CNS with relevant cancer, clinical or management experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be required to work 2 days a week from 8am-6pm (2 x 9.5hour shifts).
