Are you looking for a role in a friendly, innovative department? A clinical assistant post has become available in the Podiatry service to provide efficient and effective support in delivering high quality care and service to patients at Podiatry Clinics within the Swansea and NPT locality.

The post holder will need excellent communication skills, have a positive and flexible approach, be able to adapt to the continuous changes of the service and also enjoy working with patients and as part of a busy administrative and clinical team.

The role includes assisting podiatrists in a clinical and nail surgery setting and undertaking patient facing tasks including undertaking diabetic annual review foot screening for patients attending the multi-disciplinary diabetes clinics. The post is also a blend of administration and patient facing roles undertaking a range of duties including administration/clerical/data entry, answering and dealing with patient appointments and other non-clinical enquiries, dealing with enquiries from the general public, departmental and other health and social care staff in a confidential and professional manner., The Clinical Assistant will work at all times under the delegation of a Podiatrist in the delivery of person centred care for patients attending the Podiatry Clinic sites across the Health Board and will;

Use excellent communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team to provide quality care to patients who attend the Podiatry Clinics across Podiatry sites within the Health Board when required to meet the service needs.

Provide a range of duties including administration/clerical/data entry support to the Podiatrists, answering and dealing with patient appointment and other non-clinical enquiries and dealing with enquiries from the general public, departmental and other health and social care staff.

Provide practical assistance to patients attending the Podiatry Clinics such as undertaking patient observations including blood glucose, blood pressure readings when required and undertaking diabetic annual review foot screening for patients attending the diabetes clinics.
