Full Job Description

We are seeking to recruit to our exciting development posts for newly qualifying Psychologist to begin their career in CAMHS. We are a friendly and supportive service, passionate about supporting children and young people and extremely proactive in supporting skills and professional development of our staff. In these posts you would have opportunity to work in our specialist pathways Family Therapy, DBT, Children in Care alongside developing your skills in core psychological interventions working with children and families. We are keen to give a rich and empowering experience to newly qualified staff and help you identify where you may want to develop specialisms in the future. We will support post qualification training, ensure you have weekly supervision and lots of opportunity to work jointly with others in the service. You would follow a preceptorship plan to support you in your transition from a trainee to a confident and highly skilled psychologist. The base is flexible (Worcester, Redditch, Hereford, Malvern or Kidderminster) and this will be agreed upon appointment.,

  • Working alongside other Psychologists, CAMHS practitioners and other clinicians offering psychological interventions to CYPs and their families.
  • Assessment, formulation, consultation, and intervention for CYPs with an emphasis on child-centred and evidence-based care for those with moderate to severe mental health difficulties using a range of psychological interventions that best meets the needs of the YP and fits with the CAMH service criteria. This includes direct work with the YP, family or consultation/liaison with the network surrounding the child. You would be supported to develop specialist expertise with an active CPD plan.
  • Work in collaboration with managers and senior clinicians (appropriate to the stage of your career development) supporting the MDTs through case discussions, formulation and care planning, as well as carrying a caseload.
