An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary (HPB) Clinical Nurse Specialist surgical team at the Royal Surrey in a Fixed Term/Secondment post covering Maternity leave. The Royal Surrey has a thriving HPB and supportive unit delivering innovative surgical, diagnostic and complex benign and cancer interventions for the Region.

The post would be ideal for someone with experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, particularly with HPB and tertiary care delivery. The post will be centred around the management of both HPB cancers and pancreatitis and form part of the existing HPB nursing team dealing with a wide range of patients, supporting them through their pre and post operative pathway, diagnostic tests and interventions. Proven organisation & communication skills along with a track record of working closely with multiple hospitals and members of the multidisciplinary team are essential.

The current team will provide support and training, To work as part of the Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary (HPB) team in order to deliver evidenced based care, advice and support to HPB patients, their families and carers.To ensure a smooth and complete patient pathway from new appointments, to follow up and discharge or onward referral as appropriate whilst working with the wider multi-disciplinary team.To provide support, information and advocacy for patients with cancers of the HPB and their families, during diagnosis and treatment, both curative and palliative.To work as part of a multi-professional HPB teamTo provide continuity of care to patients with cancers of the HPB treated in the Cancer Unit in the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Trust.To act as a resource to staff on the treatment and care of patient with HPB cancers providing expert and up to date knowledge and developing educational initiatives as appropriate.To work with the multi-professional team both in the Trust and in Primary Care to develop services to meet the needs of
patients with HPB
