Are you a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist seeking a new challenge in a Trust that values and prioritizes staff wellbeing? The Wellbeing Matters Team at Berkshire Healthcare are looking for a part time qualified Psychologist to join them at either Band 7 or 8a with normal working hours of Wednesday (9 : 00-12 : 45) & Thursday and Friday (9 : 00-17 : 00). You'll offer individual psychological support following work-related incidents and investigations. You'll develop and deliver team interventions such as reflective practice, post-incident sessions, workshops, away day support and training. We strive to meet the need of the staff member or team and deliver accessible support either in person or online. You'll be working as part of a dynamic and responsive team of psychological practitioners. With no waiting list, you can provide proactive support as it is needed. As an autonomous practitioner, you'll manage your schedule to meet the needs of the teams you support. Our Wellbeing Matters Team work with the latest evidence-based specialist psychological models and techniques - currently we are piloting a Wellbeing Skills Training based within ACT. Supervisory roles can be considered depending on experience. This role offers a blend of on-site visits, home working, providing virtual support, and twice-monthly team meetings in Bracknell.   • To support the development and delivery of the Specialist Psychological Staff Support Service
  • Provide specialist assessment, formulation and interventions to individual staff, teams and managers - via 1 : 1 sessions, team sessions, workshop and training delivery.
  • Depending on experience, you will direct and supervise junior staff and resources within their area of responsibility and take an active participation in clinical quality assurance and learning programme
  • To communicate specialised, complex, and sensitive information and advice to staff members and other professionals, including information about challenging team dynamics or staff psychological wellbeing needs.
  • To provide advice to other members of the service and agencies on their particular need

  • Doctoral qualification in clinical psychology (or equivalent) and HCPC registration
  • Previous experience working as a Clinical Psychologist
  • Experiencedelivering group interventions or interventions to staff teams
  • Full UK driving license and access to vehicle, For Clinical / Counselling Psychologist : Post graduate doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent for those who trained prior to 1996 or for those who completed their training overseas) which provides eligibility for Chartered Membership of British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • For Clinical / Counselling Psychologist : Registered and accredited with Health Care Professional Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • For Psychotherapist : Recognised master's level qualification in psychodynamic psychotherapy or equivalent and registered with UKCP as a psychotherapist or with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).
  • Family and Systemic Psychotherapist : Post graduate qualification in relevant mental health or social care related discipline or equivalent.
  • Clinical psychology registered with HCPC, or Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC) registered with HCPC, or Occupational Therapy degree level and registered with HCPC, or Registered Social Worker registered with HCPC, or qualified Psychotherapist registered with professional body UKCP or equivalent) AND Master's level qualification or equivalent in family and systemic psychotherapy or equivalent qualification accredited by AFT Family and Systemic Psychotherapist : Registered and accredited as a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist with the professional body UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP),
  • Evidence of training and / or interest and knowledge in psychological models and therapeutic approaches relevant to the post.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development as recommended by the relevant accrediting body.
  • Desirable Evidence of post qualification training in supervision Experience Essential
  • Experience of working in evidence-based ways with services users (and their carers / families) presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the range of settings, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse
  • Experience of dealing with highly distressing or emotional circumstances, such as serious mental illness, child and sexual abuse, exploitation, and complex family dynamics
  • Experience of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and multi-agency environment
  • Experience of service development and carrying out clinical audit, evaluative research and applying the findings
  • Experience of working with, and addressing issues of diversity, including experience of working with diversity, multiculturalism, and equality of access to service.

  • Experience of delivering teaching and training to staff
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision, mentoring, or providing structured guidance to other staff, Knowledge and understanding of service evaluation, audit and research and completing this in the NHS.
  • Demonstrable knowledge, skills and abilities in the practice of psychological / neuropsychological or psychotherapeutic assessment, formulation and intervention, relevant to the service area.
  • Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, technical and / or sensitive information to service users, their carers / families and other professional colleagues, both within and outside the NHS
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to support, influence and engage with clinicians, stakeholders and service users to create change and improvement
  • The ability and skills to act as an advocate for the service, to engage and foster good professional relationships with all health professionals in promoting the good integration of this service with the wider health care system.
  • Ability to confidently cope well under pressure, resolve issues and competing demands, with excellent time management skills and an ability to respond constructively to challenge or resistance, applying practical problem-solving skills in everyday and complex situations.
  • Advanced IT skills and the ability to navigate various systems and software packages (such as RiO, Outlook, databases, MS office / Teams, One Consultation and the internet)., Able to work flexibly around working patterns as required, and ability to travel independently between locations in Berkshire to fulfil the requirements and duties of the position
