Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a full time, 6 month fixed-term Clinical Risk and Security Team Leader at Ravenswood House, medium secure unit. The role will have a key position in maintaining the safety and security of the environment by providing specialist clinical risk and security advice and support to both clinical and non-clinical areas within the unit.

The post holder will work closely with security staff and other direct patient care staff to provide an objective therapeutic security focused contribution in the assessment and management of clinical and non-clinical risk posed by patients and the environment, championing least restrictive practice and individualised care within Ravenswood House. The position will work with the wider clinical team to ensure security standards are adhered to considering the principles of 'least restrictive practice' and individualised care as defined by the CQC., The main duties of the role are to manage security within Ravenswood House in a way that is conducive to providing a safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors to the unit.

This will be achieved by undertaking a number of key tasks including, but not limited to,

Completing ongoing comprehensive service review of relational, physical and procedural security within Ravenswood House.

Providing training and education for all staff in respect of therapeutic security within a secure environment.

Promoting and delivering therapeutic security through effective integration of the security and treatment components of patient care.

Working closely with all levels of staff enabling and encouraging a culture of optimal practice in the three domains of security.

Supporting development and review of security policies and procedures. Disseminate security policies and procedures and ensure they are implemented effectively and adhered to, provide guidance and support as required.

Producing reports in relation to security and clinical risk within the unit.

Support investigation of relevant concerns / complaints.

Delivering audits in relation to all security issues/clinical risk.

Leading on implementing checks on physical and procedural security as and when required and, or where audit highlights a concern.

Monitoring incident reports and lead on action required where there is concern about clinical risk or security.
