Full Job Description

Applications are invited for an Education Fellow supporting Undergraduate Medical Education at the Trust. The post is based at Heartlands or Good Hope Hospitals and involves teaching undergraduate medical students from the College Of Medical and Dental Sciences, University of Birmingham and Aston Medical School. We are looking for an enthusiastic doctor with an interest in medical education who wishes to develop further. The post will be commencing as soon as possible until 4th August 2026., It is expected that 80% of the post holder's time will be given to their educational responsibilities such as the below - please refer to the attached Job Description for more details:

  • To support the Head and Deputy Head of Academy and the lead teachers by providing direct teaching to students in years 3, 4 and 5 while on clinical placement within the Trust. This would be in the form of lectures, small group seminar work and structured bedside teaching.
  • To become familiar with the teaching objectives of all the programmes being delivered by the Trust and work with the students to help them achieve these objectives.
  • To be familiar with the electronic curriculum and University web-based learning platform and be available to facilitate students' self-directed learning.
  • To support the undergraduate examinations at UHB, by recruiting patients required, checking the equipment for exam stations and assisting the UGC as required.
