Full Job Description

As the Workshop Manager for Building Services at Yeovil College, you'll be a driving force in delivering practical, industry-focused learning experiences that empower students to build essential skills for the construction sector. You'll manage engaging workshops, demonstrate technical expertise, and assess student progress, all while ensuring a safe, well-equipped environment. Your role will include overseeing health and safety, organising resources, and managing stock. With up to 1080 hours of teaching to coordinate annually, you'll keep workshops organised, stocked, and ready for action. Staying current with the latest equipment and training, you'll ensure both you and the teaching team are confident in using tools safely. Working closely with the study programme manager, you'll ensure that schemes of work are followed and that students have a supportive, inspiring space to thrive.

  • Previous experience within a Construction trade.
  • Relevant Level 2 trade qualification.
  • An assessors or teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards.
  • An interest in supporting young people to learn and develop new skills.
  • The ability to work successfully within a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Annual Salary: £24,945 up to £27,690
  • Full-time position, 37 hours per week, all year round.
