Full Job Description

A Consultant post in Clinical Neurophysiology is available now at the John Radcliffe Hospital., The postholder's duties will be primarily at the Neurophysiology department at the John Radcliffe Hospital. This post's focus is a contribution to the EEG video-telemetry service and reporting of sleep studies. This includes epilepsy pre-surgical assessment utilising intracranial recording (adult intracranial only). The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary teams dealing with epilepsy and sleep disorders in the trust and as part of the Children's Epilepsy Surgery Network (CESS). There is currently no on-call commitment.

The principal duties of the post-holders will be to contribute to the running of the diagnostic EEG, paediatric and adult epilepsy (including pre-surgical evaluation), sleep disorders in adults and children.

The post-holders will be required to participate in the urgent adult and paediatric neurophysiology rota, which at present, provides an in-hours weekday service, and provides cover during colleagues' leave of absence. The day-to-day activities will include performing or supervising reporting of standard EEG and video-telemetry, supporting clinical meetings and case discussions, and conducting EMG or other specialty clinics. The post-holders will also be responsible for supervising and guiding registrar and physiologists within the Neurophysiology department
