Full Job Description

Sobell House is an 18 bed NHS hospice within Oxford University Hospitals Trust specially designed to provide Palliative and End of Life Care and support for patients and their families with advanced incurable disease. We provide specialist care aiming to focus on quality of life and respecting the uniqueness of each person.

We have an exciting opportunity for innovative individuals to join our team at Sobell House as Deputy Ward Manager. As part of the senior nursing team you will assist the Ward Manager in providing excellent clinical and managerial leadership and will have the opportunity to gain an insight into the Ward Manager role. You will be supported to develop the necessary skills and expertise to carry out appraisals, staff development and as a line manager you will take responsibility of a team comprising of staff at a variety of band levels.

Clinical expertise and experience in Palliative and End of Life Care are desirable for this post as working clinically you will not only provide excellent care for our patients and their families but will be expected to support more junior team members. When leading the team you should be able to work well under pressure and adopt a flexible approach to work. With new ideas and visions being explored and developed, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals to share and participate in our journey.
